DRACULA ILLUMINATED EDITION

Created by Ethereal Visions Publishing

One of the most iconic horror characters, Bram Stoker's Dracula helped create an entire genre of horror that is still popular in film and literature today. This timeless 1897 classic is the second in our three-part series of Classic Horror Creations. Each page of this edition is beautifully decorated in the traditional style of artists from the early to mid-1900s, such as Edmund Dulac and Arthur Rackham, and accompanied by six tipped-in color plates which focus on crucial moments of the reader's journey. This edition contains an introduction byWilliam Parker Stoker (Great-Great Grandnephew of Bram Stoker) and a foreword by Sean Kotz (Radford University Instructor, Cinema; Director, Horse Archer Productions).

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Final Hours - a quick Q & A of common questions...
over 4 years ago – Sat, Sep 14, 2019 at 04:02:45 AM

We are less than 12 hours away from the ending of our DRACULA Illuminated campaign and we are so thrilled that you are a part of it!

We have received some inquiries that we thought would be good to share:

How do I add a copy of Frankenstein Illuminated to my pledge?

To add a copy of the first in this classic horror series you need to increase your pledge by $65. You will be able to select Frankenstein within your BackerKit survey at the end.

How do I add a copy of Edgar Allan Poe: This and Nothing More to my pledge?

Unfortunately, we are not able to add this item to your pledge through KS, but you can purchase a copy of this edition through our website at www.evpub.info by CLICKING HERE

How do I add a copy of DRACULA to my pledge?

To add a copy of the standard edition of DRACULA Illuminated to your pledge increase the pledge amount by $55. You will be able to select DRACULA within your BackerKit survey at the end.

I selected the NOIR Limited Edition. Is there a way that I can also have my name included in the book as a contributor?

Yes, to have your name included in this edition of DRACULA you will need to add the $100 to your pledge and select the Contributor Reward as an add-on within your BackerKit survey at the end (only Kickstarter backers can add this to their pledge)

Will you be offering a pin with this book as you did with Frankenstein Illuminated?

It is too late to offer an exclusive DRACULA pin for this campaign, but we are in the planning process of creating an EVPub Patreon that will include exclusive offers for supports, and this will definitely be something we consider. If you have any other suggestions for our Patreon, please send them our way! (We are planning exclusive artwork, prints, gifts, early purchasing of editions, and book giveaways)

Will the original artwork for DRACULA still be available after the campaign ends?

Yes, we plan to offer all of the available tipped-in plate and chapter header originals after the campaign ends (these will not be offered at the Kickstarter campaign price, though).

If we have missed anything, please don't hesitate to send us a message and we will respond as soon as possible!

Happy Birthday, Mary Shelley (author of Frankenstein)!
over 4 years ago – Sat, Aug 31, 2019 at 04:05:44 AM

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARY SHELLEY!!

Mary Shelley, the author of Frankenstein, was born on 30 August 1797. Obviously, she holds a special place in our hearts, and her monster lives on!

In the image below, you see how William Godwin recorded the birth of his daughter in his journal. The entry marking Mary's birth is the fourth down on the left-hand side and notes the "Birth of Mary, 20 minutes after 11 at night."

The Fun Process of Creating a Beautiful Book!

Below is a shot from the printers of our Frankenstein Illuminated book. It is a great progress shot as it shows the books just after the tipped-in plates have been added. It is a tedious process, but well worth the wait!

  • After case-in is done (cover attached to book block) the books are placed in a humidity controlled room for dehydration and to reduce moisture in the books.
  • Once dry the tip in pages are glued. To absorb the moisture of the glue, two pieces of art paper with gloss lamination are inserted on the front and back of the tip-in pages, that means 8 pieces of paper are inserted in the book. These sheets of course will be removed.
  • Quality control will check for any excess glue or markings
  • Tissue pages are then inserted

Just a quick shot of the kinds of steps we take with every project to ensure a beautiful, high quality book!
